MIDWAY LATEST (12 October)

The K4M team has arrived on Midway Island all OK.  The Midway Island
DXpedition Web page (www.midway2009.com) reports the team arrived at 0700Z. They will start early for set up, say N4XP, Tom.  He does not have an
estimated start up time but will update us when there is time..

(this is good news, as the team had problems with their chratered aircraft that was to take them from Honolulu and for a time it looked as though the operation may be off)

Glorioso

The operation has now finished, with UK stations having worked them on all bands (except possibly 10m). There is an online log (using G7VJR's Clublog), accessible via their website. Logs will be posted to LoTW in the near future.

DX Magazine Survey

The polls are now open for the 2009 DX Magazine's Most Wanted Survey at www.dxpub.com/dx_survey2009.html.  Not every DXCC country is listed; however you can add unlisted countries in the comment box at the bottom of the survey.  Let your fellow DX friends know about the survey, which closes on October 15th.

South Georgia

Lars, MM0DWF/DL9LB, will be arriving in South Georgia "around the second week of October" and leaving in mid-November.  This is all dependent on the weather.  Lars will be working on the island and plans to operate as VP8DIF as time permits.  More information can be found on his Web page at www.lars-boehme.de/vp8dif/index.html.  QSL via DJ9ZB.

SABLE ISLAND DELAYED

The Sable Island operation which I mention in the October column has been put “on hold” – see the announcement below.

The October 19 DXpedition to Sable Island by N0TG, AA4VK and WA4DAN is "being placed on hold."  N0TG's son, Carter, part of the KP5 expedition of 1992, has developed kidney cancer which has spread to his lungs.  The team appreciates the support and prayers which "will strengthen this family and successfully bring all through this trial." The web site, www.CY0dxpedition.com, is being left up and updates on Carter's progress will be added from time to time, as well as plans to reschedule the CY0 operation.  Randy says, "Our hope is that Carter will beat this disease and be able to join us at Sable Island."
