It was clear since two years ago that 5B4ES's shack was in a heartrending condition. The walls were about to collapse, so was the seeling and during periods of rainfall water was dreeping from the roof threatening both the equipment as well as the members inside.
We began our effort to get out of this crevasse last September. We organised a cleaning day in the 2008 Autumn halfterm where the club and store room where cleaned and at the same time we began an effort to make our problem known to the school. Our members met with the Headmaster Mr. Stuart Haggett and the other related school authorities and spoke with them personally .The Headmaster was even invited to the collapsing shack to see the situation himself (something that happened with great results)! It is true that the school initially tried to offer us already existing rooms, unsuitable for the activities and history of 5B4ES. At the end, with some help from outside the school decided to take the right course of action to our great surprise and delight and rennovate the already existing historical shack. The rennovation works started in February 2009 and finished in May of the same year.
The rennovated shack was inaugurated by the Headmaster Mr. Stuart Haggett on the 24th of July and the inaugurations were followed by "shack made" "souvlaki", "halloumi" and "pastourma".
5B4ES would therefore like to thank the members, the teacher in charge, the related school staff and technitians for there trumendous effort as well as the ex-members of the club who stood by our side throughout our effort. Thank you everybody!
