This year three of our members took the Ministry of Communication and Works, Department of Electronic Communications, examination for the HAREC. To the great delight of the club all three of the members passed. This means 100% efficiency for the club and is certainly something to celebrate.

Furthermore, since the two are younger than the current operators, this ensures that there will be somebody to continue operating when the current operators graduate.

 

 

Before the rennovation of the clubhouse, what struck first anybody who entered was the array of certificates and awrds on the wall. When the rennovation works however took place, all these certificates had to be pulled down and stored.

This year at last all certificates were taken out of the old frames, scaned to create an electronic copy and stored safely in albums. A copy of each certificate was then printed in A4 and framed. These were then placed on the wall where they wrightfully belonged. Thus the 5B4ES wall of fame was finally restored, inspiring members from now onwards for even more achievments!

 

                       

 

 

For a club with the history of 5B4ES, a double decker rack made out of chipboard laminated with plastic, swinging forth and back while operating as well as bulging in places was certainly not appropriate.

It was therefore of immidiate need to design and construct a new appropriate rack. The members tried to follow the tuition of an experienced senior operator in the designing. Unfortunately the first layer could be a little bit shorter for more efficient operating, but the positive thing is that the whole construction is very solid as well as big and looks really good compared to the old one.

Operating is now a real luxury!

 

                   

 

 

The 5B4ES library was always very important for the club and certainly something its members boasted about. In the past five or seven years however it was left in dissarray, ending in the school warehouse while the club's shack was being rennovated.

Now, a whole year after the shack was repaired, the 5B4ES library has returned back in the shack after a luxurious brand new furniture was especially bought for the occation. Its presence certainly enhances both appearance and operating wise the club!
